Holland

I don't think they are being hardline enough.

The Dutch have rejected liberalism in response to Islamic immigration. Some say they are now too hardline. So what can the rest of Europe learn from their crisis?

Not long ago, Holland prided itself as being the most tolerant and welcoming country in Europe for immigrants and asylum seekers. It had the credentials to prove it. So many have settled there, ethnic "minorities" are often in a majority. In the great Dutch cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague, the newcomers already outnumber the native Dutch among under-20-year-olds. They will soon be an absolute majority.

He needs to speak for himself

This is coming from someone from Nigeria. How moral is Nigeria?
I don't need Islam or Sharia.

Hakeem Olajuwon told an audience at a 1995 conference in Houston sponsored by a group later linked to a terrorist organization that America was near morally bankrupt and Islam was the only solution.

Cringe

The CBC thinks it's funny that Howard Dean makes this little joke. I don't think it's funny that black people are only associated with the lower level jobs like hotel staff. When will we wake up?

During a meeting Friday with the Democratic black caucus, Dean praised black Democrats for their work for the party, then questioned Republicans' ability to rally support from minorities.

"You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room?," Dean asked to laughter. "Only if they had the hotel staff in here."

Please!

Talk to me when they start chopping their heads off or using electric shocks on their genitals.

The inquiry uncovered numerous instances in which female interrogators, using dye, pretended to spread menstrual blood on Muslim men, the official said. Separately, in court papers and public statements, three detainees say that women smeared them with blood.

The military investigation of U.S. detention and interrogation practices worldwide, led by Vice Adm. Albert T. Church III, confirmed one case in which an Army interrogator took off her uniform top and paraded around in a tight T-shirt to make a Guantanamo detainee uncomfortable, and other cases in which interrogators touched the detainees suggestively, the senior Pentagon official said.

The bodies of more than 20 Iraqi drivers and security forces from a convoy of government trucks carrying sugar were found on Thursday south of Baghdad, police said.

The drivers had all been burned in their vehicles. Police said they believed the convoy was attacked at least two days ago but the bodies were left to rot.

Watching Dems destroy themselves

It's sad. It's like watching someone go over a cliff in slow motion. I can't imagine voting for any Democrat any time soon.

The common theme here is the Democratic Left's ceaseless, all-consuming, asphyxiating rage against President Bush. The Left is so obsessed with their 190-proof hatred of the president that, with few exceptions, they have abandoned civil discourse and instead engage in scorched-earth politics. While Americans wait in vain for a positive, forward-thinking Democratic agenda, liberals simply hurl invective at Bush and the GOP. That surely feels warm and tingly on the political Left, but it surely will puzzle swing voters and energizing free-marketeers who feel lucky to have such intellectually paralyzed opponents.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Snicker.

I tried to remember my training. My old drill sergeant, G.I. Joe, had put me through worse than this. "Are you gonna MOR yet, maggot?" he would scream, as he tied me to the wheel of a 10-speed Schwinn. (MOR: Melted On Request.) 'Sir, no, sir!" I would scream, even as the gravel scraped the paint off my face. He pushed me and prodded me, but he made me the action figure I am today. Just before Water Survival training, he gave me a piece of advice I'll always remember: "Son, when you get right down to it, you have no nerve endings." Then he flushed me down the toilet.

The Vote

It is not easy to vote with the threat of violence hanging over your head. I have to hand it to all the people who came out to vote in Iraq.

That's what Bush-hating has come to in America 2005. The Iraqi people risk their lives to vote for a new government and self-rule. In response, John Kerry says the election has "a kind of legitimacy," while anti-war opponents can't bring themselves to acknowledge that the elections in Iraq brought light and hope to a once-repressed people.
